Our Solar System
Info on our Solar System
Overview of the Solar System
Our Solar System was formed from gases and dust grains about 4,6 billion years ago. Today , it consists of different objects ranging in size from the enormous Sun to the smallest grains of dust and ice .
The largest star in our Solar System is the Sun. There are 9 main planets in the Solar System which are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars , Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus , Neptune and Pluto and 7 of these have moons.

Sun 1
The Big Sun
The Sparkling Star
Like most stars the Sun
is a masive liminous ball of intensily hot gas. Inside it nuclear of hidrogen atoms spin around rapidly, smashing together and fusing to produce nuclear of helium gas. The sun's surface is extremely active producing arches of glowing gas called promininces. Sunspots are also visible and these are darker, cooler blothces on the sun's surfaces. It is just one of the billions of stars in the milky way galaxy.

Hottest Planet
Mercury
Another Mercury
Mercury
is the closest planet to the sun, it is an average of 57,900,000 km from the sun. The diameter of Mercury is 4,878 km. Mercury is very close to the sun and therefore very hot. The average temperature during the day is 350c. Mercury has no moons. In 1631 astronomers observed a transit of Mercury across the sun for the first time on the 7th of November.

Welcome to Venus
Introduction to Venus
Venus
is an average of 108,200,000 km from the Sun, it has a diameter of 12,104km. The constant temperature is very hot with 480c. Venus has no moons. In 1610 Galileo observed and recorded the phases of Venus.

Our wonderful planet
Our home planet
Earth were living creatures exist
Earth
is an average of 149,600,000 km from the sun, it has a diameter of 12,756 km. The average surface temperature is 22c but varies depending on the distance from the equator. Earth has one moon. The Earth as far as we know is unique, this it is the only planet where life exists.

The life on Mars
Mars 2
One more of Mars
Mars
is an average of 227,940,000 km from the Sun. It has a diameter of 6,787 km. The temperature rarely rises above 20c, the surface temperature is about -23c. There are 2 irregular shaped moons named Phobos and Deimos. In 1605 Johannes Kepler proves that the orbit of mars is an eclipse.

Information on Jupiter
Jupiter itself
Jupiter
is an average of 778,340,000 kms from the sun. It is the largest planet with a diameter of 142,200 kms. The surface temperature averages 150c. Jupiter has 4 large moons which are Ganymede, Callisto, Io, Europa and about 12 smaller moons. In 1664 an English scientist Robert Hooke discovered the great red spot.

The big Saturn
Another site of Saturn
Saturn
is an average of 1,427,000,000 kms from the sun, it has a diameter of 119,300 kms. The surface temperature is -180c. Saturn has the most exentisve system of moons of any planet in the solar system. There are 19 known satellites, the largest is Titan. In 1610 Galileo was the first to obsereve Saturn.

Just another good site for Pluto
Pluto
is an average of 5.9 billion kms from the sun, it has a diameter of 2284 kms (or two thirds the size of the Earth's moon). The temperature is about -230c. Pluto has one moon Charon. In 1930 it was discovered by an American astronomer Clyde Tombaugh.
