At
the moment artist groups experience a boom under the aspect of globalization.
Mainstream something art which supports the art market in his commercial
(mafia like) power structures (like the trend of the "cultural diversion
at the market" - for example see some Asia/China's artists who appear
torn out of the cultural contents in their authenticity in some western
galleries) as for example majority of institutions who support art. Economy creates movement as does the art market. Trends are set, with suitable discourses, and we artists are flying seemingly supported or debilitated in the strength of expression of our work, throughout the world. The locality and with that the social-political attention fall into the background of the fictional world events. In relation to this exhibition I am less interested in the art theoretical discussion but more in the path from "global bungling" to an acting art with clear local sociopolitical goals respectively a concrete creative structure of the realization of these. Furthermore I find the organisation of a project out of artists hands refreshing and with argus eyes I observe the dealings of the participating art institutions, particularly in relation to the theme of this project. |
