Mobile phones and trams don't mix
Often people hold on to their phones as if their lives dependent on it.
People call their spouses to warn them they are on their way home, playtime is over
People call friends to ask about shopping-centers, how did they find them before?
People call to ask where Brunswick street is, while lost on Smith
People call their offices to ask if anyone called for them, if there were any messages.
People call to see their kids
People call to bet on horses
People call to bet on shares
People just call and none answers
People just hang on to their phones and forget to dial
People play games on their phones and miss their stops
People just ring and someone else answers, wrong number
People wait for fake calls to impress their dates and then go for the kill, don't stop there buy, buy, buy, buy
People wait for their phones to ring,
People call to see if there is a job they missed
People check their phones to see if they rang while getting on
People phone while kicking the ticket machines
People call to see you have an address if you don't have a ticket
People call to see if they can bother your parents if you are a fare evader
People call to see if you are an escapee if your clothes are dirty
People call to see if the dealer in
People call to check the time
People call to see if it rains outside
People call to make appointments
People call to see if you're in
Some people just don't call at all.

Yum Cha CD, tram 109.
My words fail to describe you. You are so attractive. I spend my moments trying to say something to you and I can't. No one really smiles on trams any more but hey I don't either. I spend my time complaining to the government about it but nobody bothers to listen. Do you like Chinese food because I don't. Do you practice Shiatsu because I do and I believe it can make you a better person, it can teach you to smile more often even on trams. Do you like music? Because I really do and I have a great CD in my bag which I want to give to you but please listen to it carefully I might tell you something about yourself, I think you deserve it; don't thank me just feed the birds for me tomorrow even if I don't see you do it, I will know, So go home and put some bread out for the birds because they deserve it and hey, it's meant to be a wonderful world full of smiling people so let's just keep that way. This CD will change your life, look at the cover it looks like Chinese Delight, I hope you like Chinese food because I don't.

Everyday of the week, I'm on a Tram
Tuesday morning sunshine but its almost 0 degrees
Wednesday afternoon it hails
While Thursday evening's wind snaps me in the face
By Friday I'm cold and I'm tired
My feet are wearing concrete but I am on a tram

My Beautiful launderette
Tea Towels
Headphones
Internet and people chewing on their emails
Blues becomes musak
Clothes spinning out of wetness
Fish tank
Couple folding floral prints and pajamas
They build a mountain of clothes
Big family

Gentleman clad for rain
Wears his patience on his worry beads
His hat hiding his years
Posters beg you to have a life
Folded clothes rush back inside bags
Mothers choice
Dirty tea towels become crispy
Books are open on people's laps
Spanish tunes drown the tumbling heat
Out of order liquid soap machine
People seem to cope

Single men talk on mobile phones while folding sheets
Single men look for change in the wrong pockets
DO YOU NEED CHANGE?
First try change machine on rear wall
Then try office
Then try Café Umago on next corner
These are your options

NEED A FLATMATE?
NEED TO RENT?

Lady on scooter rushes in to pick up forgotten laundry
Another covers up the table with wet children's clothes
A scrunched up pair of underwear fall to the ground
Embarrassed she picks it up and throws it inside the drier
Dressing gowned woman wears her hair moist picks up damp clothes
Not even inside a bag

She smiles about it and walks out and crosses street and steps inside home
A young man's socks miss the laundry basket, and fall to the ground
The tea towels still waiting for their master
And my eyes are wet.

Cat Man steals hats
Miau... Mia... Miau
Catman on the loose
Walks on tram tracks
And steals hats from Tram Workers
We run and hide…fearing for our hats
