In October, Amphion
recordings are due to release a CD covering the great days of London's
Temple Church choir under the direction of Sir George Thalben Ball. Beginning
in the legendary days of Ernest Lough, this CD also features the solo voices
of Masters Ronald Mallett, Douglas Horton, Denis Barthel (now living in
Canada), Harold Langston, and many others.
Several of these dics have
never previously been released, and others have not been available for
nearly fifty years.
The Temple Church is famous
for its music. Dr. Ball was one of the best known organists/choirmasters
of the 1930's.
Traditional Anglicans will
welcome the chance to enjoy such glorious music from what was the renowned
as the world's best choir. Further information, how to purchase, and review
in our next issue.
