WAKE UP AND WALK DOWNUNDER WITH A DIFFERENCE.

Entering into the spirit of the IYOP global walk 'Wake Up and Walk' the Rotary Club of Nundah, Brisbane, Australia sponsored a walk with a difference.

Some thirty-five walkers woke up and made their way to the Boondall Wetlands Information Centre arriving there at 7.00 am to take part in an informative walk along the "Billai Dhagun" track of two kilometres length; informative, because the walkers were accompanied by wetlands guide John Bowden. John highlighted the unique features of the wetland, its indigenous plants, its birdlife, aboriginal culture and history.

On return to the bushland park at the information centre, walkers enjoyed a breakfast of sizzled sausages, fruit and much-needed fruit juice provided by Nundah Rotary. The many talented John Bowden then entertained the gathering with a demonstration of the didgeree-doo, complete with circular breathing and bird calls.
