Touring the festival nationally is an initiative for IYOP, but one which will continue and expand. To ensure this initiative is a success, Long Lives on Screen is working with, and speaking to, media and community organisations around Australia to secure promotional support.

Long Lives on Screen Film Festival exists so as to promote the lives and stories of older people. The festival only screens films that are about, and which celebrate, older people. Long Lives is a not-for-profit organisation which celebrated its inaugural festival in 1998. It is hoped Long Lives on Screen will be an annual event in Australia's cultural calendar.
