The Australian Medical Association is an independent organisation which represents more than 23 000 doctors, both general practioners and specialists. The AMA committee on Care of Older People is comprised of experts in the field such as geriatricians, psychogeriatricians and representatives from the RACGP Care of Older Persons committee and the Australian Society of Geriatric Medicine.
