Each of the women in the photograph were asked for their comments on life and ageing:
| Doris Curry: "... ageing I think is a wonderful time of our lives, we have much help from our families and old friends. We don't seem to get around so much now but I do go into town every 3 months for a luncheon with my old tennis friends. Yes, life can be a blast at 80 years old!" | Margery Seaman: "I will be 83 years old in August, have been married 55 years and have three daughters and seven great grandchildren. I have always enjoyed travelling and I still drive my own car. My sisters and I have always had a close relationship." |

| Jean Morris: "The three sisters in the photo are my husband's first cousins. Well we all have to get old and I think we are lucky to reach our age. I think the main thing in old age is to try and keep your sense of humour. And of course we all have our aches and pains but the four of us still enjoy company and think positive and count our blessings." | May Duncan: "Although I'm practically blind, I still consider life a blast and precious at 80. My sisters also in the photo and I have a very close and loving relationship... I'm very proud of my granddaughter Starsha and love her very much indeed." |
